Winfree Bryant Middle School student --
Lebanon Police officers, both uniformed and detectives, are investigating a Monday night shooting that has severely injured a Winfree Bryant Middle School seventh grader.

Casia Watkins, 13, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by LifeFlight Helicopter after her grandmother's home, located at the corner of Sycamore and Floral Streets, was riddled with a hail of bullets shortly after 10 p.m. Monday.

"I believe with my whole heart the community needs to come together and help bring the people who did this to justice," said 20th District County Commissioner Annette Stafford. "I know somebody out there knows something.

"I know the grandmother and she's trying to raise these children the right way. This is not being a snitch, it's what has to be done to get these people off the streets."

Anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Lebanon Police Department at 444-2323.
