The job opening was taken down from the Wilson County Schools website late last week, “to give Mrs. Sloan an opportunity to review the current candi-dates,” Mrs. Sparks said.
“As with all positions, if we do not find the ideal candidate from those who have applied thus far, we will re-open the posting,” she said.
The job opening remains posted on the TSSAA website.
Sloan, the first-year principal at LHS, has appointed a committee to help her sort through the list of applicants with hopes of bringing several on campus for face-to-face interviews.
The committee includes: Sloan, LHS assistant princi-pal Jonathan Hall, former WC School Board member Larry Tomlinson, former NFL defensive lineman and Lebanon resident Mike Jones along with Lebanon High Devilettes basketball coach Larry Joe Inman.
The committee is expected to meet sometime later this week to go through the initial list of candidates for the position.
Coach Brown resigned last month after coaching the Blue Devils for nine seasons with a record of 44-51 and four trips to the playoffs.
