9AAA alters frosh football dates

Game sites will be the opposite of the site of the varsity game the previous Friday. For example, Lebanon High is scheduled to host Mt. Juliet in the Week Zero opener on Aug. 22.


In turn, Mt. Juliet will host Lebanons JVs at 6 p.m. and the LHS freshmen at 7:30 p.m. on the following Monday, Aug. 26.


The decision to realign the ninth grade and JV games came during the districts end of school year meetings.


Bears to throw at RiverdaleMt. Juliet will face five solid pool play opponents in Thursdays 7-on-7 passing tournament at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro.


The Golden Bears will play host Riverdale at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 9:40 matchup with Centennial. MJ plays Summit at 10:15; Oakland at 10:50 and Father Ryan at 11:25. The single elimination phase will be seeded according to pool play results.


MJ Christianoccupies sportplexMt. Juliet Christian Academys football team has occupied the Stilts Sportsplex, located adjacent to Suey Field.

The state of the art facility has 30 collegiate-quality lockers as well as a 36-seat, stadium style, area for viewing game film. On the back side of the facility, there is a practice area with artificial turf that adapts for batting / pitching practice for both baseball and softball.


The TSSAA dead period was certainly busy for Coach Roberts as he and his wife Shelby welcomed son Ryder to the world last week at Nashvilles Baptist Hospital.


Sean Corbitt joins LHS staffVeteran coach Sean Corbitt has joined Sam Harps coaching staff at Lebanon High as a non-faculty assistant. Most recently, Corbitt on the defensive side of the ball at Friendship Christian School, earning a pair of state championship rings.


Prior to his time at FCS, Corbitt was the defensive coordinator at Lebanons Cumberland University under for CU head coach Herschel Moore.


Corbitt, a native of Waverly, is coaching linebackers at Lebanon.tball players report to campus August 9 and open the season Thursday, August 29 at Tennessee Tech.
