Adopt A Precinct program a success in August

The Election Commission partnered with four local groups in the August election, Scout Troop 293, Wilson Central High School Band Boosters, Friendship Christian School Topsiders and Dell Webb Womens Club.

All provided poll workers during the election and all four will be participating in the November election and will bring more members for that election.

There will always be a need for well-trained poll workers in Wilson County, Warren said. The same officials cannot work every election and unforeseen vacancies occur before each election.

Warren added that having well-trained groups of poll workers ready to staff polling locations on Election Day and during Early Voting is crucial to making elections in Wilson as smooth as possible.

Community service groups are encouraged to contact the Election Commission if they have an interest in participating in the Adopt A Precinct program. More information is available or by calling 615-444-0216.
