A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at Immanuel Baptist Church for Amanda Michelle Greene, 16, of Lebanon.

Daughter of Jade and Joni Greene and an honor student at Lebanon High where she was a member of the girls basketball team and HOSA, Amanda died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 following an extended illness.

Amanda attended Immanuel Baptist Church where she enjoyed participating with her youth group on Mission Trips to New Orleans.

Visitation will be held 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Baptist Church. Services will be conducted by Pastor John Hunn and Pastor Darrin Reynolds. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

In addition to her parents, survivors include: her brother David Russell Greene; aunt Kelly Greene Byram and husband Kelly Byram; uncles Hunter Vann (Emily) Greene, Chris (Ronda) Gaertner; maternal grandparents Joseph A. and Lynda Sue Gaertner; as well as numerous loving family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Herbert Vann and Edna Jan Greene.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Amanda's memory to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society -, 404 BNA Drive, Suite 102 Nashville, 37217 or Immanuel Baptist Church Youth Group, 214 Castle Heights Avenue Lebanon, 37087.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and the National Institute of Health for their care and treatment of Amanda.

A special thank you also to all those who have surrounded the family with loving care, support and prayer these past 14 months.

Lebanon's Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
