Ann Korekach, was born April 12, 1926 in Pittsburg, PA, daughter of the late Harry and Anna Treloka Michekoski and departed this life on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the age of 91 years.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph a US Army veteran of WWII, John a US Army veteran, Carl a US Army veteran of WWII and recipient of two Bronze Stars, Anthony a US Marine Corps WWII fallen hero killed in action on Sept. 11, 1942 at the age of 23 years, and her sisters, Elizabeth, Mary, Rose and Catherine.
Ann and her two sons moved to Nashville, TN in 1962.
She is survived by her two sons that she thought of very much as her treasures, David J.(Nancy)Korekach of Lebanon and Joseph R. Korekach of Nashville; granddaughter, Bethann (Matt) Davis; great grandsons, Dalton Franz and Garrett Davis; great granddaughter, Brookelyn Davis; nieces, Marlene Ann Supak (Ray), Karen Byrnes, Olyn Prescott (Don). Jessica Anne Pingree and Catherine Ann Danforth; nephews, Barry Mitchell (Corrine) and James D. Korekach (Susan).
A gathering and Time of Remembrance to celebrate Ann's life was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, TN.
Ann's granddaughter and great grandchildren were very precious to her, for them she created a story, nursery rhymes and drew the illustrations. For many long hours she did water color paintings. In Ann's latter years she composed poems that were published in poetry books by the International Library of Poetry and the Noble House London U.K. Ann received an editor's choice award for outstanding achievement in poetry from the International Library of Poetry.
