Dorothy Lillian Zumbro, 82

MT. JULIET – Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, April 27 at the Bond Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Zumbro, 82, of Mt. Juliet.

 

A member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ where she worked as secretary for over 25 years, Mrs. Zumbro died April 25, 2008.

 

She formerly worked for the US Coast Guard in Washington, DC and later for Seward Air Force Base.

Jane Atwood, 74
MT. JULIET – Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 29 at the Mt. Juliet Church of Christ for Mrs. Jane Atwood, 74, of Mt. Juliet.A retired Wilson County educator, Mrs. Atwood passed away April 26, 2008.

For 17 years she served as principal at Gladeville Elementary School, following 13 years as a first grade teacher at Mt. Juliet Elementary School.

Jeffery Darrell Holmes, 34

LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Holmes, 34, of Lebanon. He passed away on April 27, 2008.

 

The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral.

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 29 at the Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet for Mrs. McKee, 70, of Hermitage.

 

Secretary / treasurer and member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1291, Mrs. McKee died April 25, 2008.

Richard W. Fusting, 69

MT. JULIET – Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning, April 29 at the Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Fusting, 69, of Smyrna.

 

A veteran of the US Army and a member of St. Patrick Anglican Church, he died April 26, 2008. Known as “Dick” to his family and friends, Mr. Fusting was a member of Sam Davis Lodge #661 F&AM and a Shriner.

MILLINGTON -- Lefthander Lance McClain threw a masterful four-hit shutout Tuesday to lead No. 4 seeded Cumberland to a 4-0 victory over No. 1 seed Trevecca Nazarene in the second round of the TranSouth Conference baseball tournament at the USA Baseball Complex.

The Bulldogs improved to 38-19 overall and earned a berth in Wednesday's 7 p.m. game vs. the winner of Freed-Hardeman and Lyon College.
