Charles Samuel Moscato Sr., 89

LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at the Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon, for Mr. Moscato, 89. Devoted husband, father, and faithful Christian man of God, Mr. Macato died Monday, June 2, 2008.

Known as "Jeep" to his family and friends, he was 1937 Featherweight Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, Buffalo, New York.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he served as a Corporal in Company B of the 817th Tank Destroyer Battalion and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Chlorine leak at Lebanon wastewater plant forces road closure


A chlorine leak at the Lebanon wastewater plant on Hartmann Drive forced authorities to shut down the roadway at the Highway 70/Baddour Parkway on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. Lebanon Police also shut down Quarles and Babb Drives as Lebanon Fire Department responded to the scene.

Lebanon Commissioner of Public Safety Billy Weeks said workers were turning off a valve when the line burst in the process. He called it a “very minor leak,” but said workers responded as they should.
