Business Before Hours set Tuesday

Business Before Hours, sponsored by Hampton Inn and the Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber of Commerce, will be from 5:30 until 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 15 at 704 South Cumberland Street, Lebanon.

There will be door prizes and a Chamber Pot awarded.

Corker meeting cancelled

A meeting scheduled to be held in Mt. Juliet on Friday, July 11 with U.S. Sen. Bob Corker has been cancelled due to a flight delay, said a spokesman in his Washington, D.C. office.

The roundtable meeting with Wilson County community leaders was to be held in Mt. Juliet at 3:45 p.m.  “We regret any inconvenience that this causes and will make every effort to reschedule it in the future,” said Chuck Harper, Corker’s deputy press secretary.

OLD HICKORY – A corporate outing for workers and family members of an area restaurant turned tragic Monday afternoon when the son of one of the employees drowned while swimming at Cedar Creek Recreation Area on Old Hickory Lake.

The child, Daniel Salgado, was 8 years old. The names of his parents had not been released as of press time Tuesday.
