LEBANON – Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, July 28 at the Sellars Funeral Home for Mrs. Davenport, 75, of Lebanon. She died July 25, 2008.
Services were conducted by Brother Danny Sellars and Brother Kenneth Bowen. Interment was in Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include children Joyce (Ray) Webber, Gerald Hudson and David Hudson — all of Lebanon; sisters Edith Wooden and Reba Simms — both of Lebanon.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Candace Steverson, Danny (Katherine) Hudson, Joey Hudson, Crystal Hudson, Melanie Brewington and Michael Brewington; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Timmy Martin, Chase Hudson, Steve Malone, Michael Wooden and Terry Simms.
She is preceded in death by parents Lonnie and Helen Walls Davenport, daughter Wilma Jean Hudson, and brothers Earl Davenport and Aubry Davenport.
Sellars Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The City of Lebanon will be conducting spot spraying for mosquitoes on Wednesday, July 30 weather permitting.
The alternate date is Thursday, July 31.
Citizens should note the trucks will be well marked and outfitted with a yellow flashing light.
Mosquito control trucks will not administer spray where people or pets are present in the front of any property. The City will not spray on days when it rains or when winds are greater than 10 miles per hour.
Anyone who does not want their property area sprayed or for questions contact the Public Works Street Department at 444-0825 ext. 121.
ROUNDTREE HITS WALK-OFF HOMER
PASCAGOULA, MS -- Jordan Roundtree ripped a walk-off three run homer over the right centerfield fence in the bottom of the 7th inning to lead Lebanon's Rotary Dixie Major All-Stars to a 7-5 win over Mississippi Tuesday afternoon in the "O"-Zone World Series.
The Tennessee state champions advance to a 1 p.m. date Wednesday against Alabama in a loser-out contest on Gibson Field.
"It was an awesome feeling and it was definitely my favorite home run in my life," said Roundtree, who finished the game 3-for-4, with two home runs and five runs batted in.
