Glenn Johnson, Jr., 59

LEBANON — A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date for Mr. Williams Glenn Johnson, 59, of Lebanon. A corporate partner with Factory Sales Agency, Inc., he passed away August 18, 2008.

A veteran, he served in the US Army Reserves, initially as a paratrooper and then as a parachute rigger for a period of seven years.

As a civilian, his many achievements were in the lighting field where he planned, along with his partners, the lighting for Ryman Auditorium, Shelby Street Bridge, Demonbreun Street Bridge, Monroe/Carell Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Country Music Hall of Fame, the Convention Center, LP Field, the Sommet Center and many other venues.

His humanitarian works included being a major fundraiser for Special Olympics serving on the Board of Directors, the first Sara Lee Golf Classic, the Nashville Golf Classic and Cumberland Heights where he was honored as Volunteer of the Year.

Survivors include mother Billie Baggett Roney of Hermitage; sister Kendy (Dwight) Staggs of Hermitage; brothers Kevin (Sheron) Johnson of Hendersonville and Bruce (Michele) Johnson of Augusta, GA; step-mother Lucy Johnson of Augusta, GA; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by father Glenn Johnson Sr., grandparents Willie and Lillie Johnson of Lebanon and Jesse and Clara Baggett of Old Hickory.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Glenn’s favorite charities: Cumberland Heights (8283 River Rd, Nashville TN 37209), Special Olympics of TN Inc. (1900 12th Ave South, Nashville TN 37203), and Able Youth (4316 Prescott Rd, Nashville TN 37204).

Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.

Marie C. Buehler, 74

LEBANON – Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 22 at the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church for Mrs. Buehler, 74, of Hartsville.

Born in Breese, Illinois, she died August 20, 2008 at the Trousdale Medical Center.

Services will be conducted by Father Michael O’Brien. Burial will follow at the National Veterans Cemetery in Madison.

Survivors include: sons Albert (Joann), Paul (Holly) – all of Lebanon, Michael (Gloria) of Watertown and Richard of Gallatin.

Also surviving are brothers Vincent (Mary Ann) Deiters of Highland, Illinois; Edward (Jean) Deiters of Highland, Illinois; sisters Catherine Schrage of Highland, Ill. and Agnes (Paul) Hilmes of Breese, Illinois; a granddaughter and two grandsons.

Mrs. Buehler is preceded in death by her husband Rudolph A. Buehler, three brothers and two sisters. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Wilson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Phillip Michael Roddy, 57

LEBANON – A memorial service was held Thursday evening at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mr. Roddy, 57, of Lebanon. A supervisor at Peterbilt Motors in Madison, Mr. Roddy died at his residence Tuesday, August 19, 2008.

Memorial services were conducted by Walter Smart.

Survivors include: wife, Va-Rissa H. Roddy; son Phillip Michael (April) Roddy, Jr. and daughter Chelsea Roddy – all of Lebanon.

Also surviving is mother Betty P. Roddy and brother Dennis (Unye) Roddy – both of Dayton; granddaughters Bailey Roddy and Ashley Lehew —both of Lebanon.

He is preceded in death by father Paul D. Roddy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sara Cannon Cancer Center, 250 - 25th Ave. North, Nashville 37203.

Partlow Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Teresa Lynn Miller Walker, 39

LEBANON – Ms. Walker of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Survivors include: father Jerry (Judy) Miller and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Prowell – all of Lebanon.

Also surviving are sisters Tammy Jane Woods of Chicago, IL; Wendy Miller of Nashville, Sandra E. Buscher of Madison, MS and Glenda Montierth of McKinney, TX; half-sisters Valerie Jeffries of Rogers, AK and Melissa Garcia of Plano, TX; half-brother David Leidy of Plano, TX.

There will be a memorial service will be scheduled for a later date in Allen, Texas where Teresa will be buried by her mother, the late Lois Evon Miller.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her brother Gerald Miller II.

Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.

Truman Walter Shahan Sr., 84

LEBANON – Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, August 22 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Shahan, 84, of Lebanon.

Retired from TRW / Ross Gear, Mr. Shahan died August 19, 2008.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army and Air Force for 18 years.

The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home Friday from 10 a.m. until the funeral.

Services will be conducted by Brother Danny Sellars with interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include children Truman (Elizabeth) Shahan, Jr. of Lebanon, Carson Shahan of Georgetown, Frenchie Shahan of Cleveland and Glenda Davis of Lebanon.

Also surviving are sisters Savannah Runyan and twin Gertrude "Perk" Hickman; grandchildren Walter (Rebekah) Shahan, Daniel Shahan, Jennifer (Daniel) Demay of Hartsville, and Rebecca (Lance) Troutt of Hartsville; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents Walter Lee and Lula Stinnett Shahan, wife Gladys Shahan, daughter Kay Carver, brothers Elmer Shahan, Freeland Shahan, and Windell Shahan and sisters Virginia Cofer and Linnie Cofer.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
