Frances Ann Bryan Hoffman, 77

LEBANON -- A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, August 29 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Hoffman of Lebanon.

Affectionately known by her family as "DeeDee" or "Ganny", Mrs. Hoffman died August 26, 2008 following an extended illness. Born March 31, 1931, she spent her blessed years on this earth giving of herself in boundless measures.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4 p.m. until the service. Brother David Freeman will officiate the memorial.

Survivors include: Melissa Prowell, Shelly Coluccio, Shane (Peggy) Hoffman, Tammy Baker and Angie (Brad) Batts.

Also surviving are grandchildren Luke and Clifton Sepulveda, Dex Snider and A.J. Snider, Joshua and Chad Hoffman, Christina Coluccio, Austin, Brent and Zachary Baker and Trevis and Preston Batts; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Madalyn Hoffman; sisters, Mary Hightower and Dora Palmer; as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents Eddie and Mattie Bryan; father of her children Laurel E. "Bud" Hoffman; grandson Daniel Anthony "Bubba" Coluccio; son-in-law Michael Ralph "Mike" Baker; and nine brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the March of Dimes, The Ronald McDonald House or the organization of your choice. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

So we were having dinner with friends when the topic came up about a mutual acquaintance whose daughter had given her kidney to her new husband. We all spoke at once about what a kind and loving gesture this was and how amazing that her husband was doing so well now.
