The proposed Bible Park USA took one more step forward this week when the Industrial Development Board of Wilson County approved sending the plans for Bible Park USA on to the Lebanon City Council and the Wilson County Commission Thursday morning.
A relatively new, 2004 state law requires that the proposal be cleared by the development board before the council or the commission makes any decision about it.
Bible Park USA representative Rob Wyatt told the board that most of the money to build the park would come from private investors and financing, but he hopes to raise about $12-$14 million by issuing bonds.
The bonds would be paid off by “Tax Increment Financing,” which both Lebanon and Wilson County would have to approve.
