MT. JULIET – Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday June 20, at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Bibb, 67, of Lebanon. The owner of Southern Optical Center for 40 years, Mr. Bibb died Tuesday, June 16, 2009. He was the son of the late Ben and Louise Patterson.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday. Services will conducted by Pastor Randy Martin.
Survivors include: wife Cheryl Kennedy Bibb of Lebanon; children Tracie (Rick) King of Cookeville, Derik Bibb of Lebanon, Jared Bibb and Dallas Bibb – both of Mt. Juliet; grandson Jacob Roberson.

LEBANON – Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mrs. West, 82, of Lebanon. Retired from the Cedars of Lebanon Credit Union as secretary / bookkeeper, she died June 18, 2009 at Cedars Health Care Center.
The daughter of the late Walter Henry King Sr. & Martha Elizabeth Thomas King, she was a member of the Unity Church. Visitation will be held Friday 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral.
Services will be conducted by Brother Kenneth Bowen. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: children Larry R.(Martha) West, Sharon West (Jim) Tomlinson and Pam West (Larry Yoder) Askew.
Also surviving are grandchildren Randy West, Cam (Mike) Lindemann, Clint (Amy) Tomlinson and Rob (Hilary) Askew; great grandchildren Adrian West, Taylor and Justin Lindemann, Macie Tomlinson and Gavin Leftrick, Lexie, Dylan and Tucker Askew; special relatives Charles and Joyce Tomlinson, Geoff and Alyson Atchley, Mrs. Ruby Tisdale and best friend Mae Garrison.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, I.D. West; infant son Ralley West; brothers Lloyd King, Ralph King, Walter King Jr. and Clifford King; sisters Margaret Hicks, Peggy Denney, Edna Murray, Polly Duke and Rosa "Billie" Murff.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.

COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at the First United Methodist Church of Cookeville for Mr. Powell, 94, of Cookeville.
Born in the Statesville Community of Wilson County, Mr. Jewell died on Monday, June 15, 2009 at Sunnington Senior Care in Murfreesboro where he had resided the last five years.
An educator and author, he was the son of Jim T. and Arizona Williams Jewell. He attended Statesville Elementary School, Watertown High School — graduating in 1932 with honors.
A graduate of Middle Tennessee State College with a B.S. degree in Chemistry, "Powell" taught in high schools in Dublin, GA and Bell Buckle. Following service in the US Navy during World War II, he taught chemistry at Middle Tennessee State College for two years and then in 1944 he went to Vanderbilt University, graduating in 1946 with a M.S. degree in Chemistry and Metallurgy.
He worked for Union Carbide in Oak Ridge for two years before taking a position on the faculty at Tennessee Polytechnic Institute in Cookeville teaching Chemistry. In addition to teaching, he co-authored two chemistry laboratory manuals.
Mr. Jewell was a member of the Cookeville First United Methodist Church where he was an usher, a member of the Backsliders Sunday School Class and United Methodist Men’s group.
He was active in the TTU Emeriti Faculty, TTU Garden Club, where he was the auctioneer for their annual Plant Sale, and the Putnam County Retired Teachers Association...
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Whitson Funeral Home and 1-2 pm. Saturday at the church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Drew Shelley. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: nieces Levena E. (Boyd) Kline and Frances E. (Walter Keith) Crawford; great nieces Caroline Crawford, Amy J. (Walter) Campbell and Mary J. (Jim) Kinnaman; great nephews Tommy (Lisa) Jones, Walter (Tammy) Crawford, III and Lee (Kim) Jones, III; several other great nieces and nephews and other relations.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Willie Rush Hunter Jewell; brother Harold C. and Mary Jewell, and their daughter Delorah Jewell Moore.
Pallbearers will be family members. Honorary: TTU Chemistry Department, Backsliders Sunday School Class and Ushers of the First United Methodist Church.

WATERTOWN – Funeral services have been scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. Griffin, 91, of Watertown. Born June 11, 1918 in Auburntown, she died June 18, 2009 at Lebanon’s University Medical Center.
The daughter of the late Spurgeon and Elsie Blair, she was a graduate of Watertown High School and a member of the Watertown First Baptist Church. Mrs. Griffin was retired from Robertshaw / Lux Time in Lebanon.
The family will receive friends Friday between the hours of 1-9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral. Services will be conducted by Rev. Don Mathis with burial at the Odom Cemetery.
Survivors include: children Linda (Terry) Vaught and Brenda (Bobby) Allison – all of Watertown and Gerald (Jane) Griffin of Milan.
Also surviving is son-in-law Larry Estes of Watertown, 11 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Fred Griffin, daughter Mary Sue Estes, granddaughter Teresa Griffin Beachum and brothers Arnold and Willie Albert Moore.
