Inmate dies in county jail
From Post staff reports

An inmate facing charges of attempted first degree murder, failure to appear and tampering with evidence has died of an apparent heart attack while awaiting trial in the Wilson County Jail.

Darrius Wilson, a 19-year-old Lebanon man, “had just eaten breakfast and went back to bed complaining of a stomach ache around 7:30 a.m. Monday,” said Assistant Chief Robert Bryan with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department. Wilson was discovered unresponsive a short time later around 8 a.m.

Unemployment rate up
Tennessee Commissioner of Labor & Workforce Development James Neeley announced the Tennessee’s unemployment rate for June was 10.8 percent, up 0.1 percentage point from the May rate of 10.7 percent. The June rate a year ago was 6.4 percent. The national unemployment rate for June 2009 was 9.5 percent, up from the May rate of 9.4 percent.
