Andrew J. Lineberry, 84

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 13 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Lineberry, 84, of Mt. Juliet. Known as "Pop" to his family, he died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010.

Mr. Lineberry was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Bible Seekers Sunday School Class and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Services will be conducted by Rev. Howard Mettee.

Survivors include: son Dewey Lee (Maribel) Lineberry; grandson Mark (Kristi) Lineberry and great, grandchildren Bradford and Savannah Lineberry. Also surviving are sisters Mildred Wilsdorf and Mary Kachenovick; along with several nieces and nephews.

The was the son of the late Bradford and Lee Richardson Lineberry, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Dean Halbrooks Lineberry and brothers Ira, W.H. “Bates” and Arlis Lineberry.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Bible Seekers Sunday School Class at Grace United Methodist Church.  Arrangements by Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt. Juliet Road.

Collier leads CU Second Cup of Coffee lecture on Tuesday

Dr. Charles Collier, dean of the Cumberland University School of Education, will kickoff the spring semester’s Second Cup of Coffee lecture series Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 12:30 p.m. in the K-Room on the CU campus he discusses his experiences during the Vietnam War.

Collier served in Vietnam during the early 1970s as part of CORDS (Civil Operations and Revolutionary Development Support), a unique hybrid civil-military structure formed to coordinate the United States civil and military pacification programs.
