Obituaries

Barbara Evon Weaver, 63
WATERTOWN -- Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Sept. 20 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. Weaver, 63, of Watertown.
A native of Wilson County and a 1966 graduate of Watertown High School, she died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at her residence.
She was a member of Round Lick Baptist Church and worked in the garment industry.
Services were conducted by Rev. Steve Mayle with burial at Wilson County Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian and Allie Mae Ricketts Weaver.
Survivors include: sister LaDon Weaver of Watertown; uncle Hugh Weaver of Madisonville, Ky.; aunts Lucille Weaver and Ruth Ricketts of Lebanon; as well as a number of cousins.
Pallbearers: Randy Roberts, Bobby Ricketts, Joe Ricketts, Philip Lea, Jeremy Kent and David Davenport.
Memorial donations may be made to the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Howard Milton Johnson, 84
LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 21 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mr. Johnson, 84, of Lebanon.
A member of Lebanon's First Baptist Church and a former member of Barton's Creek Baptist Church, he died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010.
Mr. Johnson was a US Navy Veteran serving during World War II, a retired accountant and a former employee of Texas Eastern Transmission Corp.
Services were conducted by Pastor David Freeman, the Rev. Bill DeVasher, Dr. Ray Cleek, the Rev. Don McElroy and Bobby Staten. Interment was at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: wife of 63 years Dorothy Rutledge "Dot" Johnson; duaghters Sheri (Bobby) Staten, Melinda (John) Greer and Pamela (Larry) Sharp; grandchildren Summerlee (Brenden) Rowe, B. J. Staten, Karalesa (Ben) DiFabio, Matthew Milton (Becky) Greer, Michael David (Blair) Greer and Erin (Andy) Coomes, Jack Greer, Elliott Greer, Paxton Greer and Charlotte Greer DiFabio; brother Robert "Bobby" (Norma Ruth) Johnson; sisters Vermell Albert, Dean Estes and Betty June Thorne; sisters-in-law Ruby Johnson and Lucy Johnson; numerous loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents William G. "Willie" Johnson and Lillie Shepherd Johnson; brothers Douglas Johnson, Perry Johnson and Glenn Johnson.
Pallbearers: Larry Sharp, Bobby Staten, John Greer, Matthew Greer, Jack Greer, Michael Greer, Ben DiFabio, B. J. Staten, Andy Coomes and Brenden Rowe. Honorary: Robert VanHook, Bobby Johnson and Mr. Johnson's Sunday School Class of Lebanon's First Baptist Church.

John Lee Brown, 83
LaGUARDO -- Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon Sept. 21, in the LaGuardo Cemetery for Mr. Brown, 83, of Lebanon.
The son of the late W.B. "Punch" and Mary Belle Brown, he died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at the University Medical Center.
Services were conducted by Brother Frankie Downs.
Survivors include: wife Cathrine Woodall Brown; siblings Myrtle (Lee) Rake of Franklin, Will D. (Eleanor) Brown of Kentucky and Jerry (Yvonne) Brown of Lebanon as well as other family members.
Active pallbearers: Will D. Brown, Jerry Brown, Mark Z. Manning, Bill Manning, James W. Manning, Jr. and John Ryan Manning. Honorary: Charles E. Brown, James H. Brown, Gary Brown, Carl Robbins, Bob Goolsby, Dr. Joe Bryant, Adam Manning, Matthew J. Manning, Mark E. Manning and Luke W. Manning.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings Ruth Brown; and James "Boots" Brown.

Margaret M. Lynn, 87
LEBANON -- Graveside services were held Tuesday morning, Sept. 21 at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens for Mrs. Lynn, 87, of Lebanon.
A homemaker and owner of Lynn’s Shoe Store, she died Friday Sept. 17, 2010 in the Quality Care Health Care Center.
Services were conducted by Dr. Larry Locke.
Survivors include: son James Lynn; grandson Keith Lynn; special caregiver Gelinda Wessel, special great grandson Jordan Wessel; special friend Rachell Buster Chaffin; special great granddaughters Jamey Marie Spurling & Jalyn Celine Chaffin; nephews Bill Markham, Jim Meadows and Jack Meadows.
She is preceded in death by parents Aaron & Junie Whitaker Meadows; husband Walter C. Lynn; siblings Rose Markham, Gladys Janss, J.D. Meadows, Richmond Meadows and Hubert Meadows; daughter-in-law, Margaret Ann Lynn.
Pallbearers: Bill Markham, Jack Meadows, Jim Meadows, Jordan Wessel and Terry Blair.

Mary Driver Bullard, 103
WATERTOWN -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 21 at Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. Bullard, 103, of the Statesville Community.
She passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 at Northside Health Care in Murfreesboro. She was a member of Statesville United Methodist Church and attended Prosperity Baptist Church.
Services were conducted by the Rev. James Bond and the Rev. Don Rigsby. Interment followed at Jennings Cemetery.
Survivors include: daughter Sue (Dewey) Corley of Statesville; grandchildren Joanne (James Lowe) Shipper of Statesville and Dale Corley of Statesville; great-grandchildren Amanda Corley of Nashville, Nathan Shipper of Statesville, Clint Shipper of Statesville, Chelsea Corley of Smyrna and Lori (Tim) Chaffin of Lebanon; great-great-grandchildren Erika and Lexy Chaffin; nieces nephews; special friends Ann Robinson, Mary Nell and Ronald Paris.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edd Lester Bullard; parents Lon and Matilda Crook Driver; siblings Jennie Truitt, Berry, Taft, Ed and Dib Driver.

Mildred Green Scott, 82
LEBANON -- Graveside funeral services for Ms. Scott, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa were held Monday afternoon, Sept. 20 at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
A Protestant who worked as a secretary for many years, she died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Born June 13, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Edward Johnson and Bessie Maxey Green.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Raliegh, Ed & Richard Green.
Services were conducted by Rev. Dickie Johnson.
Survivors include: children Laura Diers of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and James Hullinger of Florida; grandchildren Lindsey Kepper, Charlie Diers, Justin Hullinger and Holly Hullinger; great granddaughter Fischer Kepper; brother Harry (Carolyn) Green of Murfreesboro; sisters-in-law Eloise Green and Gail Green; and nephew Bryan Green of Lebanon.
Memorials may be made to Discovery Living, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Roberta Allmon Glover, 84
GORDONSVILLE -- Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Sept. 19, 2010 at the Bass Funeral Home for Mrs. Glover, 84, of Gordonsville.
The daughter of the late Daisey King Boulton and Charles Aust Allmon, she died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at Riverview Medical Center in Carthage.
Born in Gordonsville, she was a member of First Baptist Church and worked for Alexandria and Carthage Shirt Factories and retired from Precision Rubber Factory.
Services were conducted by Jason Lahorn officiating. Burial was at the Smith County Memorial gardens in Carthage.
Survivors include: daughter Karen (Larry) Duke of Lebanon, son Randy (Le Ann) Glover of Sykes, grandchildren: Jeff Agnew, Jenny (Bill) Wood, Susie (Tommy) Turner, Donna (Scott) Howard, Brandy (Phillip) Huffines, Dusty Keaton, Randee (Jason) Powell and Shannon (Kayla) Glover along with 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Haskell Smith Glover as well as six brothers and sisters.

Wallace Joe Rich, 74
LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Monday morning, Sept, 20 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Rich, 74, of Lebanon.
Born in Allen County, KY, he died Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville.
The son of the late Charles Edward and Sarah Carver Rich, he was a Baptist and had worked in heavy construction and was a saw mill worker.
Services were conducted by Bro. Billy Robinson and Elder Garry Drennon. Interment followed at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Edna Mai Rich and Matthew Rich; nephews Dole Likens, Chris Sandlin and Oliver Ford Jr.
He is survived by his wife of over 51 years Lois Smith Rich; siblings Kenneth Charles Rich, Jim Bob Rich, Lorene Ford, Clorene Likens, Juanita Johnson, Minnie Arline Sanlin and Joyce Sandlin; several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers: David Likens, Otis Agee, Randy Likens, Keith Agee and Shane Sandlin. Active: Mark & Steven Sandlin, Bobby Smith, Jason, Michael, Scotty, Jim, Tommy and Ken Rich.
