Clara Nell Fisher Carson, 82
LEBANON -- A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the Cedar Grove Cemetery for Mrs. Carson, 82, of Lebanon.
A housewife and beautician, she died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 in the University Medical Center.
A member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon, Mrs. Carson served as a second grade Sunday School teacher and was an active member of the WMU.
Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Partlow Funeral Chapel.
Rev. Don McElroy will conduct the graveside service.
Survivors include: children Porter (Sherrie) Carson and Becky (Jeff) Hall.
Also surviving: brother Freddie Fisher; grandchildren Elliott (Hannah) Carson, Sarah, Meg and Emma Kate Hall; Jeremy (Sara) Taylor; great grandchild Avery Carson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Geneva Payne Fisher; her husband of 53 years Will Perry Carson; siblings Kenneth Fisher, Jerry Thomas Fisher, Ewelle Nolle Fisher and Jessica Givens.
Pallbearers: Elliott Carson, Jeff Hall, Aubrey Givens and Al Fisher. Honorary: Jerry Fisher, Teresa Hightower and staff/friends at Senior Citizens Center, Amanda at Quality Care; UMC staff & nurses, Debbie, Karen & Betty; Odyssey Hospice and nurses, Robbie & Marilyn.

Lillie Mae Leonard, 79
LEBANON -- Mae “Granny Mae” Leonard of Spring Hill passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at age 79.
Services were held Thursday morning, Nov. 11 at the Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon, conducted by Brother Marc Huddleston.
Interment followed in the Leonard Family Cemetery.
Survivors include: her husband of 62 years, Sherman Leonard of Spring Hill; children Sharron L. Rankin of Old Hickory, Wes (Darlene) Leonard of Orlando FL, Daniel (Barbara) Leonard of Lebanon, Ray (Donna) Leonard of Manassas VA, and Ray Leonard of Thailand.
Also surviving are siblings Lois Cook of Donelson and Oneida Dewey of Spring Hill' grandchildren Dale Conard, Trea Leonard, Stephen Leonard, Andrea Mattox, April Leonard, Jacob Leonard, Sylvia Leonard, Zachary Leonard, Hannah Leonard, Jennifer Leonard, Alexandria Leonard, Katie Baker and Timothy Leonard; and great-grandchildren Isaac William, Leonard, Makenzie, Cassidy, Caleb, and Elijah Conard, Georgia and Cade Leonard, Haddon Mattox, Isaac, Gabriel and Ethan Leonard.
She is preceded in death by granddaughter Miriam Leonard and grandson Eric Leonard.
Grandsons served as pallbearers: Dale Conard, Jacob Leonard, Trea Leonard, Stephen Leonard, Zachary Leonard and Brooks Mattox.

Two men die in I-40 wreck

Collision shuts down westbound lane

MT. JULIET — A Mt. Juliet man was killed Wednesday after officials say he drove his pickup truck the wrong way down a ramp onto I-40, hitting another truck head-on, killing the driver, and closing down the interstate until late Wednesday evening.

Tennessee Highway Patrol reports sent late Wednesday night say that the Mazda pickup truck driven by Michael E. Pitcock, 52, of Mt. Juliet, “entered I-40 westbound from Mount Juliet Road traveling the wrong direction.”

The Mazda hit a Kenworth tanker truck, carrying hazardous materials, driven by William McGinnis, 62, of Ohio, head-on, killing both drivers instantly.
