I have not killed a turkey, only went for a few minutes one time. So, I will tell you this story.
Haunted? -- I guess just about anything can be haunted. Usually, when you think of haunted, you think of a house. But I know a lake that is haunted. I cant tell you where it is, I am sworn to secrecy. However, it is haunted. I can tell you the story just way it came about. See, the thing is, for some reason, I seem to be attracted to places that have, I guess you say, strange occurrences-lakes, houses, canyons etc. Maybe I attract the unusual. This is about a lake, perhaps a haunted lake. Some call it Nock-e-nut. I have never known why.
It is full of crappie and bream and bass, this haunted lake stuck on an island in the middle of a swamp. It is hard to get to, as are most lakes with large fish populations. The island is several hundred acres in size, the lake in the middle, maybe 100-acres. I have fished the lake several times. It is a favorite spring lake for crappie or specs as they are called down there. I went some years ago, went just for the bass fishing. It was planned we would fish Mound Bayou, Saline and maybe Little Larto. Instead, we went to the haunted lake. Here is how it came about.
Dear Ken: Whats the latest on a new Three Stooges movie?
Are you pulling my hair? It opens April 13. The three stars are Will Sasso as Curly, Sean Hayes as Larry and Chris Diamantopoulus as Moe. The storyline has the trio attempting to save their childhood orphanage. Along the bumbling way, they get mixed into a murder plot and a reality TV show. Hopefully, there will be some pies in the face. Sasso, 36, is a Canadian comedian, who has been seen on the small screen in MADtv, Sliders, Til Death, Less Than Perfect and $#*! My Dad Says. His movie credits include Ernest Goes to School, Ski School 2, Happy Gilmore, Beverly Hills Ninja and Best in Show. Hayes, 41, grew up in the Chicago and was a classical pianist before he became a comedian. He played Jack McFarland on Will & Grace and Jerry Lewis in the TV movie Martin and Lewis. His movie credits include Billys Hollywood Screen Kiss, Cats & Dogs, The Cat in the Hat, Win a Date With Tad Hamilton! and The Bucket List. Diamantopoulos, 36, was born in Toronto and grew up splitting his time between Greece and Canada. His TV credits include The Starter Wife, State of Mind and 24. He played Frank Sinatra in the miniseries The Kennedys and is married to Becki Newton, who played Amanda on Ugly Betty.

I started taking an interest on the subject of birth order after becoming an adult. Mainly because I had grown tired of my older siblings treating me like I was still 5. Birth order explains a lot about a persons behavior, especially a person who comes from a family of six children. I am number four in that order.
I love my older brother and sisters, but this sibling battle has been going on since they were born first and my parents began referring to their younger children as the babies. A term my dad still uses to this day to describe his three youngest. The older children in families will always talk about how much more the younger children got away with and how the younger kids generally had a more cushy life. But something they forget is everything they got was new.

Down a country lane between Lebanon and Mt. Juliet, inside a converted three-car garage, might be the last place in the Southeast one would expect to discover a fish farm with more than 1,200 rare African exotic fish.
Rift Valley Exotics is the culmination of Jon Carmans fascination with colorful finny creatures that began as a youth.Ive had a passion for fish my entire life. I tried a few times when I was younger and that didnt really succeed, said Carman, 33, who works in construction management for Gresham, Smith & Partners. When my son Jaden was born in 2001, I got my first little tank. It expanded to two and then I got my third one going.

I woke up early this past Saturday morning and peeped out the kitchen window to see what was lurking about at my bird feeding station. There were about eight or ten individuals of two different varieties of Doves feeding on the bare spot where I put out millet on the ground. The place where my old van was parked keeps the area bare and makes it easier for my ground scratchers to locate their food.

Whats the origin of whole hog? If its too much like a story the butcher at the grocery might tell, please spare me the gruesome details. Thank you.- Not a Hog Myself, but Like That Barbeque
I have earlier indicated my deep love for barbeque. Especially, but not always, pork. I also have an affection bordering on addiction for bacon. A monthly highlight is my visit to a local breakfast buffet with a few other ex-teachers. We tell wild, almost gossipy, stories and eat piles of bacon.A good friend, knowing of my bacon leanings and that I like to read cookbooks, drool over the pictures, but balk at fixing the food, handed me an amazing gift: Bacon Cookbook. I have spent happy hours with full color, full page photographs of a variety of bacon studded dishes. One of the most beautiful photos is of several bacon slices that have been brushed with brown sugar and red pepper before broiling.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Board of Directors has adopted a shareholder rights plan that limits an individual investors holdings to 20 percent in the company.
The board took the action on Monday. Shareholders, several months ago, voted not to continue with a previous so-called poison pill that limited an individual investors holdings to 10 percent.
The use of the poison pill approach comes about in the wake of Sardar Biglari, owner of Steak N Shake, who continues to purchase shares and now owns more than 16 percent of the stock in Cracker Barrel. Biglari sought in 2011 to become a member of Cracker Barrels board, but was not elected to the position by shareholders at the companys annual meeting in December.

A freeze warning has been issued by the National Weather Service office in Old Hickory, calling for sub-freezing temperatures and frost tonight across Middle Tennessee.
The warning is in effect from 3 to 8 a.m. Thursday morning.
According to the NWS, a cold Canadian high pressure system will continue spreading colder air across the Middle Tennessee area tonight, bringing with it the lowest temperatures in several weeks.
Temperatures are expected to fall into the lower 30s across low-lying locations west of the Cumberland Plateau late tonight.
Record setting warmth in March produced an early growing season and local gardners should take care to cover sensitive outdoor plants as frost can damage or kill vegetation.

Mt. Juliet Christian Academy is expected to move swiftly in naming a replacement for former football coach Mark Harrison -- who was let go March 30.
This was a decision that was made by our school administration, MJCA athletic director Paul Christensen confirmed Monday afternoon. The school has decided to go in a different direction and I certainly respect that.
Harrison, who went 4-16 in two seasons coaching the Saints, was perplexed following his conversation with Mike Lee, Mt. Juliet Christian Academys interim headmaster.
They just called me in and said they were not going to renew my contract, Harrison said. They told me I had done nothing ungodly or immoral.
