Darryl "Dean" Robinson, 74, died suddenly Dec. 27, 2012 at his home, Riceland in the Gladeville Community. Former Dean of Students at Lebanon's Cumberland University, he was born Nov. 24, 1938, son of the late Sam Sherrill and Christine Rice Robinson.
A 1956 graduate of Lebanon High School Class and Vanderbilt University, he was employed by the Tennessee Dept. of Education -- Food Services Division, and was a member of the Gladeville Church of Christ.
Traffic was reduced to a crawl in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 early Wednesday morning as officials worked to reconstruct the scene of a fatal accident that occurred this past Friday.
Members of the Critical Incident Response Team were working to determine what caused the accident which happened about 8:04 p.m., Dec. 28, near mile marker 228, about one-half mile from the Beckwith Road interchange.
Trooper William Bennett of the Tennessee Highway Patrol said in his report that one person was killed and four people were injured in the two-vehicle accident. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Signups have begun for the 2013 Rotary Baseball League in Lebanon. To be eligible to play, players must be between 9 to 12 years of age as of April 30, 2013.
Tryouts will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Lebanon Rotary baseball fields located at Baird Park. Games will be played on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
Game cap and shirt will be provided for each player. There is no charge to play.
