City, County meetings planned

The City of Lebanon will have a special called meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 22 at the town meeting hall.

Also on Monday at the town meeting hall, the Public Works/Transportation Committee will meet and have a public hearing for a MS4 annual report at 7:30 a.m.

The Wilson County Development and Tourism Committee will also meet Monday at 5:30 p.m. in conference room 1 of the county courthouse.

The County Budget Committee will meet Tuesday, July 23 at 5 p.m. in conference room 1 of the Wilson County Courthouse.

The County Judicial Committee will meet Tuesday, July 30 at 6 p.m. in conference room 1 of the Wilson County Courthouse.

NWS issues Significant Weather Advisory

A Significant Weather Advisory has been issued for Wilson, Rutherford and Davidson Counties by the National Weather Service Office in Old Hickory.

Meteorologists were tracking strong thunderstorms around 2:50 p.m. near Rural Hill which were moving west at 25 mph.

Locations in the path of the storm included Mt. Juliet, Percy Priest Lake, Hermitage among other areas.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes, brief heavy rainfall, hail up to nickel size and winds 50-55 mph were expected with these storms.

Conditions were expected to remain favorable for additional storms later into the evening.
