Davis went missing Sunday, July 13, around 5 p.m., after he and two friends jumped from a bluff near Hunters Point Bridge into the Cumberland River. Wilson County Sheriff Robert Bryan explained that although the two friends tried to assist Davis when they saw him struggling in the water, the river current was just too strong.

Family and friends stayed close by the scene of the accident throughout the week while area agencies, including the Sheriffs Department, Wilson County Emergency Management Agency, Sumner County Emergency Management Agency, Trousdale County officials and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency worked to locate the body.
