Police still looking for Carr, Betty Jr. - both indicted for first degree murder

Lebanon Police are asking for the publics help in locating Derrick Devaughn Carr, of 204 Morgan Meade Court in Nashville, and Shaun Derrick Betty Jr., of 3018 Indiana Avenue in Nashville.

Both have been indicted by a Wilson County Grand Jury for several charges including First Degree Murder, Felony First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder.

Both are known as members of the Tree Top Bloods gang and are considered armed and dangerous.

Lebanon Police believe the men are still located in the Middle Tennessee area.

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for the arrest of Betty Jr. or Carr.

Anyone with information should contact their local police or call the Lebanon Police Department at 444-2323.

Train, truck collide

A train versus truck collision on Tuesday afternoon resulted in two people being transported to the hospital for injuries.

The Wilson Post spoke with Lebanon Police Chief Scott Bowen who said a Nashville & Eastern train collided with a flatbed truck on the tracks located on Briskin Lane in Lebanon, leaving the truck driver and passenger injured. The driver of the truck, Adam J. Meyer, was transported to University Medical Center for minor injuries. The passenger, Jose Javier Batrez, of Antioch, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

A police report said Meyer and Batrez had not worn seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Bowen said crews were working to clear the scene and that the trucks wheels were stuck under the train.

Briskin Lane was to be closed through the afternoon.

Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
