MURFREESBORO -- Mt. Juliet's Lady Bears were denied a chance to play for a state title after a 55-46 loss to No. 1-ranked Blackman Friday morning, March 7 in the Class AAA semifinals at MTSU's Murphy Center.

Mt. Juliet (30-2) led Blackman 20-19 at intermission, but saw the Lady Blaze come roaring back with a 16-8 third quarter effort.

LEBANON -- Pinch-hitter Jake Cain’s RBI single to left in the top of the ninth inning negated another terrific pitching performance by Anthony Gomez, as Shawnee State posted a 2-1 victory over 10th-ranked Cumberland in the series opener Friday at Ernest L. Stockton Field-Woody Hunt Stadium.
