LEBANON -- Cumberland University senior Courtney Maynard earned the Softball Pitcher of the Week from the Tennessee Sports Writers Association on Tuesday for their performances from March 10-16.
 
Maynard earned three victories and allowed just three earned runs in 20.0 innings of work cover four appearances for the Bulldogs.

Shackle Island -- Lebanon High improved to to 2-1-1 on the season and 1-1 in District 9-AAA following Thursday night's 4-1 win 4-1 Beech. Jose Tovar had two goals for the Blue Devils.

Wilson Central falls to state champs

SMYRNA -- Wilson Central's softball team slipped to 8-7 on the season following Tuesday's 9-5 loss at defending Class AAA state champion Smyrna.

Wilson Central got on the board in the top of the first inning when Kelsey Tomlin was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Keily Preston, and scored on an RBI single by Katie Eakes.
