9-AAA BASEBALL: 'Cats top Hendersonville 8-3

Wilson Central plays Monday at 7 pm
HENDERSONVILLE -- Wilson Central will take a record of 21-12 into Monday night's third round play of the District 9-AAA baseball tournament at Drakes Creek Park.

The Wildcats sent host Hendersonville High to the losers' bracket on Saturday with an 8-3 spanking, leaving the Commandos and Portland to play a 4 p.m. loser-out game Monday afternoon with a crack at WCHS on the line.

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Kevin P. Greene scattered seven hits in seven innings of relief and Ricky Coleman collected three hits and drove in five runs, as Cumberland rallied twice in the game in a 10-7 victory over host Lindsey Wilson in the first game of the Mid-South Conference Championships Sunday at Egnew Park.

DANVILLE, Ky. – Freshman starting pitcher Jessica Claxton threw a seven-inning no-hitter for the Georgetown Tigers, as GC defeated the Cumberland softball team, 3-0 and 4-0, to win the Mid-South Conference Championship here Sunday at Millennium Park.
