It seems like only yesterday that we were in the deep freeze with all of the frigid weather and now, I am afraid that we have jumped over spring and landed in the middle of summer. I made a promise to myself that when it warmed up, I would not rant and rave about hot weather, nuf said.

5-AAA softball finals moved to Thursday

Lady 'Cats eliminate Northeast 8-2
Wilson Central’s softball team will play for the Region 5-AAA championship Thursday as Clarksville High comes to Gladeville for a 6 p.m. contest. Heavy rains on Wednesday forced the finals to be pushed back 24 hours.
    
The Lady Wildcats eliminated Clarksville Northeast 8-2 Monday night, improving to 31-15 on the season.

Central closes season 23-13
GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central’s remarkable 2014 turnaround season came to a halt Monday night with a 2-1 loss to Clarksville Rossview in the semifinals of the Region 5-AAA baseball tournament.

The Wildcats (23-13), who started 5-10, closed the year on an 18-3 run and came painfully close to earning a berth in the regional finals.

Bulldog bats go cold in 5-2 loss

Loser-out game is Wednesday morning
KINGSPORT -- Cumberland fell into the losers' bracket of the NAIA Opening Round tournament with a 5-2 loss to top-seeded Missouri Baptist Tuesday afternoon at Hunter Wright Stadium.

Now 41-19 on the season, the Bulldogs will play either Bryan College or Culver-Stockton Wednesday at 10 a.m. in a loser-out contest.
