A celebration of life service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Hermitage United Methodist Church for Mrs. Harding, 63, of Hermitage. The wife of James A. Harding, she died May 17, 2014.
Mrs. Maynard, 81 of Lancaster passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at her home. Marie was born May 29, 1932 in Baxter, the daughter of the late; Henry Wheeler and Linnie Ann Hammock.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, may 21 at the J.C. Hellum Funeral Home for Ms. Harris, 71, of Lebanon. She died Friday, May 16, 2014 at University Medical Center.
Stephen Eugene Beck, a Wilson County man who fled the state in 2011 following multiple child rape charges, was arrested Tuesday in Wilmington, North Carolina, according to a press release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Beck, 43, was charged in August 2010 in Wilson County on six counts of rape of a child and 14 counts of rape. That same month he was indicted in Rutherford County on three counts of rape of a child.

MT. JULIET -- Nashville Overton snapped Mt. Juliet High’s eight-game winning streak and kept the Golden Bears at home for Spring Fling with a 2-1 overtime victory Saturday, May 17 in a Class AAA sectional.
Mt. Juliet broke open a scoreless game as senior Cameron Woodfin found the back of the net off a pass from Chase Earles in the 46th minute.
NAIA ALL-AMERICA SELECTIONS --
Cumberland University junior Antonio Manuel Marcelo was voted First Team All-American and sophomore Pablo Borrero earned Second Team honors, as announced by the NAIA earlier this week.
Marcelo was a Second Team All-American in 2013 and garnered First Team accolades this season after posting a 16-5 overall mark in singles and an 11-9 record in doubles.
Wednesday in Spring Fling
Wilson Central’s softball team returns to the Class AAA state softball tournament for the first time since 2009 thanks to an impressive 10-0 win over Franklin High in a sectional game Friday, May 16.
Now 33-15 on the season, Coach Michael Shepard’s Lady Wildcats will open tournament play Wednesday at 10 a.m. against Maryville High (26-9) at Starplex No. 1 in Murfreesboro.
Isotopes fall 4-1 to Fesno
A pair of unearned runs doomed Jeff Bennett's first appearance with the the Albuquerque Isotopes in a 4-1 loss to the Fresno Grizzlies Saturday, May 17 at Chukchansi Park in Fresno, Calif.
In his first appearance in the United States this year, the Lebanon resident tossed five innings of six-hit, two run ball, while striking out three. His two unearned runs came after an error in the fifth inning.
