I am located just a hop, skip and a jump from the Jimmy Floyd center on Castle Heights Avenue North, where one can sit in the back yard and hear all of the excitement coming from the young people having their last hurrah's of the season.

CU ring ceremony set Sept. 26

LEBANON -- Cumberland University will host a Championship Ring Celebration and Dinner for the 2014 Baseball National Championship team on Friday, Sept. 26 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon. The 6:30 p.m. dinner is open to the public.

Tickets may be purchased by calling head coach Woody Hunt at 615/547-1366 or stopping by the baseball clubhouse. Tickets are $10 per person and must be purchased by Monday, Sept. 22.

LEBANON -- Senior Danielle Girardeau posted 10 kills versus Pensacola Christian and sophomore Michelle Evans collected a dozen against Fisk University, leading Cumberland to a second straight day of sweeps and a perfect 4-0 mark in the Volleydawg Classic Saturday, Aug. 30 at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.
