LPD nabs alleged ID thief

Officers with the Lebanon Police Department arrested a fugitive wanted in two states Sunday, Sept. 28.

According to a statement issued by LPD Chief Scott Bowen, 31-year-old Eric Darden, of North Carolina, attempted to make a purchase at a Brooks Brothers clothing store in Franklin on a previous occasion, and his credit card was denied. Franklin police later discovered the card Darden had attempted to use was stolen.

'Dogs gallop past Bluefield 59-28

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. - Cumberland piled up 688 yards of offense and quarterback Reed Gurchiek accounted for 273 yards and four touchdowns, as the 18th-ranked Bulldogs scored 31 straight points in a 59-28 victory over Bluefield College Saturday, Sept. 27 at Mitchell Stadium.

DICKSON -- Friday night's long trip down I-40 to Dickson County was well worth the effort as Wilson Central came away with a 41-31 victory over the Cougars.

Coach Brad Dedman's team got out of the blocks quickly, opening up a 21-0 lead on an 18-yard run by Dakivian Moore and a pair of long touchdown passes from Cody Ray to Blake Lea (62 yards) and Zack Dover (69 yards).
