Monday funeral held for Joanne Cotten

Funeral services were held Monday evening, Oct. 6 at the First United Methodist Church for Mrs. Joanne Jenkins Cotten, 84, of Lebanon.

A retired educator and wife of Lebanon attorney Ernest Cotten, she died Oct. 4, 2014 following an extended illness.

Bulldogs rally from 17 behind
PIKEVILLE, Ky. - Brandon Mallory rumbled in from a yard out in overtime, capping a 17-point second-half rally giving Cumberland a 36-30 victory over the University of Pikeville Saturday at the Hambley Athletic Complex.

The Bulldogs (4-1) won for the second straight year in overtime against the Bears (2-4), who missed an extra point late in the third quarter that enabled Cumberland to make the comeback.

LEBANON -- Senior Austin Taylor rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns in the first half as Friendship Christian rolled to a 42-0 win over Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Friday at Pirtle Field.

FCS improved to 5-1 on the season and 2-1 in the East-Middle District 1-A while MJCA fell to 0-6 / 0-3.
