Two winless football teams match up tonight as District 9AAA rivals Portland and Lebanon square off at Clifton Tribble Field / Danny Watkins Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with live radio coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. on WANT FM-98.9 and WAMB FM-99.3. A live video feed is available for free viewing online at www.ustream.com.

Portland comes in 0-6 / 0-3 in the district after a 48-8 loss to league-leading Hendersonville last week.

Tim Bryant to head local FCA

FORMER MJHS FOOTBALL STAR
Former Mt. Juliet High football standout and ordained minister Tim Bryant will become the new full-time director of the Wilson County Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes sometime next month.

Bryant has tendered his notice at Nashville's Montgomery Bell Academy where he has worked since 2007 in admissions, counseling and coaching middle school football.

WHS volleyball earns regional berth

Tigerettes fall in 8A finals
MADISON-- Watertown High's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Goodpasture Thursday evening in the District 8A tournament finals. Game scores: 25-9, 25-10 and 25-17.

The Tigerettes slipped to 14-13 on the season, but will move on to play Jackson County 5:30 pm Tuesday at Goodpasture in the first round of the Region 4-A tournament.
