Ramona June Anderson Meriwether, 84

A celebration of life service will held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Meriwether, 84, of Mt. Juliet. The widow of the late Thomas Meriwether and an active volunteer with various non-profits, she died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at her home after a seven-year struggle with Dementia.

WCSB faces booming population growth
West Wilson and Mt. Juliet middle schools are both "busting at the seams," according to school administrators and board members. MJMS has 1,600 students enrolled and WWMS isn't far behind, with about 1,200.

The administrators and board members agree that Wilson County's next school should be a middle school to relieve the overcrowding at West Wilson and Mt. Juliet. However, there isn't as much agreement about where the new school should be located.

Weapon, drug related offenses
LEBANON -- A volunteer youth football coach was recently arrested on drug possession charges, and the league decided to allow him to continue to coach.

Lebanon Youth Football & Cheer Inc. Coach Randall Jerod McFarland was charged with possession of firearm during commitment of a felony, drug paraphernalia and possession and manufacture with intent for resale following a stop by the Wilson County Sheriff's Department on September 11.
