Aeronautics school ready for take-off
Aeronautics school ready for take-off

Baker School of Aeronatics
LEBANON -- Although Baker's School of Aeronautics will officially celebrate its grand opening on Friday, Nov. 14, the school has served Middle Tennessee for decades.

Baker's School of Aeronautics was formerly known as King's School of Aeronautics and was located in the Nashville Municipal Airport area. The school was first opened by Russell King in 1973.

MJ finalizes property sale to Lebanon car dealer

Monday night (Nov. 10) city commissioners put into motion a measure that brings another new car dealership to Mt. Juliet.

In a 3-0 vote (Mayor Ed Hagerty and outgoing District 4 Commissioner Jim Bradshaw absent), Mt. Juliet city commissioners approved a resolution to finalize the sale of eight city-owned acres on Pleasant Grove Road in the Paddocks area to Premier Dodge Chrysler Jeep LLC of Lebanon.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 at Lebanon's Immanuel Baptist Church for Mr. Charlie L. Tatum, 95, of Lebanon. Retired from the Lebanon Garment Factory and founder / former owner of Tatum Camper Sales, he died Thursday morning, Nov. 13.

Preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Reed Tatum in 2010, Mr. Tatum was a charter member of Lebanon's Immanuel Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Taylor Nay scored in the 34th minute and ninth-ranked Cumberland dominated play after the first 15 minutes, taking a 1-0 victory over Campbellsville University here on a cold and windy Thursday in the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Championships at Finley Stadium.

With the win, the Bulldogs (15-2-1) advance to the tournament finals for the third straight year where they will face familiar foe Lindsey Wilson at 3 p.m. Eastern Time Friday at Ron Finley Stadium - Campbellsville.

Cumberland University's Shauna Gilpin was voted Mid-South Conference Player of the Year, Emily Shires earned Freshman of the Year honors and Lindsay Kitson, Olivia Chu, Taylor Nay, Kaitlin Phillips, Mackenzie Keele, ReneƩ LaRose, Gilpin and Shires all garnered First Team All-MSC accolades, as announced Thursday morning by the league office.
