Frankie Anderson, 81 of Watertown, died Monday evening, Jan. 26, 2015 at her residence.

Born in Clinchco, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lonza Glenn Rose and Dolly Gilbert Rose and was preceded in death by a son, Barry Phillip Anderson and his wife, Anne Marie.

You can catch fish in cold weather. You can catch varied species in cold weather. I put emphasis on the YOU. Cause see, I aint fishin in cold weather ever again. I have done that and I ain agonna do it anymore!

I have caught walleye, sauger, trout, bass, striper, catfish, bream, and crappie and most likely, some I have forgotten; some like ling. At the time, before I was on blood thinner and stayed cold all the time, I reckon I enjoyed it. I must have cause I did a lot of it.

Lori Seay has dedicated her time over the years to helping young girls feel empowered to pursue their dreams. Seay, whose children are now grown, said she never did it publicly or for praise from her peers. She simply wanted to instill old fashioned values in today's youth and teach girls how to be young ladies.

As a graduate and teacher at Watertown High School, Patricia "Trish" Price was a Purple Tiger through and through.

At her passing October 23, 2014 at 78 years old, Price indicated in her will that she wanted to leave a $5,000 gift to the school that gave so much to her.

LOCAL SPORTS IN BRIEF

Lebanon Youth Baseball signups --
Lebanon Youth Baseball signups are currently underway online at lebanonyoutbaseball.net. Tryouts will be held at Baird Park on Saturday, Feb. 7 for 7-12 year old divisions and Sunday, Feb. 8 for the 6 year old division.

More details regarding signups and tryouts can be found on the website. No child pays to play in the Lebanon Youth Baseball League.

LYB will accept players who will turn 6 years of age by 12/31/2015 and will be 12 years of age through 4/30/2015. Eligible birth dates will include any child born between 05/01/2002 - 12/31/2009.

UPDATED -- Local sports in brief

UPDATE -- baseball dinner moved to March 19 -- The Cumberland University baseball team will host its annual Kickoff Dinner and at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19 in the Benton Jennings Center on the CU campus.

The evening will include a silent and live auction of baseball memorabilia as well as other donated items, with all proceeds benefitting the CU baseball program. Cost of the event is $25 per person. For more information contact coach Woody Hunt at 615-547-1366 or email whunt@cumberland.edu.
