WHS Tigers fall in 8-A consolation

Red Boiling Springs 55, Watertown 54
MADISON -- Down 10 in the early going Watertown's boys dropped a narrow 55-54 decision to Red Boiling Springs in Saturday afternoon's District 8-A consolation game at Goodpasture Christian School.

The Purple Tigers (15-15) got 17 points from Dylan Speck, 12 from Devon High and 10 from Ty Love. Seth Price had seven points, Brant Martin six and Vonta Bates two points to round out the Watertown scoring.

Coach Matt Bradshaw's team will be in action 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24 at District 7-A champion Clarkrange (25-5) in a loser-out contest.

CU's weekend series goes on ice
CU's weekend series goes on ice

Cumberland baseball has canceled its weekend series against Judson [IL] University due to continued inclement weather in the middle Tennessee area.

The Bulldogs and Eagles were scheduled to play a four-game series at Ernest L. Stockton Field-Woody Hunt Stadium, with doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday.
