School budget will fund upgrades

Tax revenues are up, and that means the county schools can afford to pay teachers and principals better, hire needed teachers, and even absorb a sizeable hike in their water and sewer costs, the Wilson County School Board learned this weekend at a work session Saturday afternoon.

Olympian, NCAA champion at LHS --
LEBANON -- Former Olympic medalist and three-time NCAA champion Nate Carr will be the guest instructor at a free wrestling clinic hosted by Lebanon High School Saturday, July 18.

The clinic will be held between the hours of 9 a.m. - 12 Noon in the LHS wrestling room. Experienced middle school and high school wrestlers are welcome to attend at no charge. Athletes should come dressed and prepared to wrestle.

314 mile race ends in Georgia --
CASTLE ROCK, Ga. -- Friendship Christian teacher / coach and ultra marathon runner Greg Armstrong repeated as champion of "The Last Annual Vol State 500K" early Monday morning.

His time of 3 days 22 hours 05 minutes 23 seconds was the fourth fastest time in Vol State history.
