Local filmmaker to premiere new horror movie in Lebanon

Mt. Juliet resident Jim O'Rear has worked in the Hollywood entertainment industry for over 30 years as an actor, stuntman, screenwriter, director, make-up artist and producer. Now, he plans to bring his latest offering, a horror movie titled "The Hospital 2," home to Wilson County for its U.S. theatrical premiere.

There are times that we need rain so the lawn mowing people can make their money, just not too much too soon. That can cause the tomato's skin to bust.

Spickard wins marksmanship title

Sr. Championships July in Ohio --
Wilson County is home to a national champion, as Register of Deeds John "Bev" Spickard captured the National Grand Senior Championship at the Camp Perry rifle competition in Ohio last month.

Spickard easily bested the field of shooters from around the globe. His score of 2,292 out of a possible 2,400 was 45 points better than the second-place finisher, Nelson Shew, of Lebanon, Ore. Spickard and Shew are great friends and former teammates in national competition.
