Janice "Jan" Marie Jewell, 66, of Watertown, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 5, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
Born Sept. 15, 1949 in Memphis, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Thomas Bastin, Jr. and Mary Evelyn Selph Bastin.
She was a 1967 graduate of Nashville's Hillwood High School and attended University of Tennessee, Nashville campus.
Mrs. Oleta Hall Winfree, 89 of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 at University Medical Center. She was born on January 11, 1926 in DeKalb County to the late Clark and Ola Grandstaff Hall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Hall Floyd.
This is a special column for me.
This column marks 40 continuous years of writing an outdoor column in Wilson County. I asked Lisa Snuggs, executive director of the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association (SEOPA) to do some research for me.
