I was hoping that I might escape the misery of getting sick this new year, but the dreaded creeping crud is upon me. I had to go and visit Dr. Gary Gallant for the cure to my ailment. It seems that I have bronchitis with a very aggravating cough to go along with it. Maybe by this next weekend, I'll be fit as a fiddle.

Haston to lead Lebanon economic development

Lebanon Mayor Philip Craighead announced Tuesday morning that Sarah Haston has been named the City's new Economic Development Director.

After well over a month playing on the road, the Cumberland Phoenix of Coach Lonnie Thompson return to the Dallas Floyd Center Thursday evening.

CU will take on the Eagles of Life University (Marietta, Ga.) in a 7 p.m. single game. Life comes in 9-5 overall, 3-3 in the Mid-South Conference.

The Phoenix improved to 9-11 on the season, 2-5 in the MSC, following Saturday's 85-84 double-overtime win at Shawnee State in Portsmouth, Oh.

Wildcats now 31-5 in dual meets
MARYVILLE -- Wilson Central's wrestling team swept five matches over the weekend to win the Heritage High Duals.

The Wildcats improved to 31-5 on the season, recording wins over Jefferson County (75-12), Wayne County (69-12), Anderson County (75-3), Tennessee High (59-21) and No. 2-ranked Beech (38-32).
