WCS, LSSD pull in 24 awards at Invention Convention

More than 480 young inventors convened at MTSU last week for the 24th regional Invention Convention, bringing inventions such as new games to things that "make life easier."

Of the 60 awarded inventions, 24 were created by Wilson County Schools or Lebanon Special School District students.

COLUMBIA, KY -- Cumberland University's Nicole Bowers has been named the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.

Bowers, a junior forward who prepped a Nashville's Hillsboro High School, led the Phoenix to a 2-0 week to close out their regular season with wins over No. 21 Pikeville (Ky.) and Cumberlands (Ky.).
