Organizers of the annual Wilson County Teacher of the Year program have announced the nominees for the 2015-16 Wilson County Teacher of the Year. The winner will be honored at the 18th Annual Teacher of the Year banquet and ceremony on Friday, April 8, in Baird Chapel on the campus of Cumberland University.

TRACK -- Teams will run at APSU

Track and field teams from Lebanon, Wilson Central and Mt. Juliet will head to Clarksville Saturday for the annual Governors Classic, staged at Austin Peay State University's recently refurbished Governors Stadium.

Lebanon prepped for Saturday by hosting an unscored meet Tuesday afternoon at Clifton Tribble Field which featured athletes from Watertown, Friendship Christian, Station Camp and host LHS.

Several solid performances were turned in despite windy conditions, including a sweep of the sprints by Watertown senior Darby Wood.

WCHS falls 4-3 to Nazareth Academy
Lebanon High's baseball team improved to 7-3 overall and 1-0 in District 9-AAA following Wednesday's 5-1 victory over Gallatin at David Alexander Field.

The Blue Devils got a sterling pitching performance from sidearmer Daniel Holmes. The junior righty retired the first 10 Green Wave batters he faced and finished with a complete game three-hitter. He struck out four Gallatin hitters with no walks.

Ninth grader leads Central comeback
GLADEVILLE -- Unfazed after giving up an opposite field three-run homer in the top of the first Wednesday against Lebanon, you might say Wilson Central pitcher Kaylee Richetto settled down.

A ninth grader with apparently limitless potential, Richetto held Lebanon to just one hit the rest of the way in a 13-3 victory over the Lady Devils. She struck out two and walked just one hitter.
