What would happen if Bass Pro Shops-BP were to buy Cabela's? The truth is, we don't know. We can only speculate. It is almost a sure bet, such a merger would transform the hunting and fishing world somewhat for the consumer. But of major and in my opinion, of greater impact would be the effect on thousands of private lives.

Tigers, Tigerettes end season
WATERTOWN -- Gordonsville broke open a tight 4-3 game with a seven-run burst in the top of the sixth on the way to a 12-3 victory over Watertown Wednesday afternoon, May 11 in the loser's bracket finals of the District 8-A baseball tournament.
Watertown had stepped up to host the tournament's final day after storms had flooded the field in Hartsville where the event was being hosted by Trousdale County High.
Lady Commanders slug three HRs
LEBANON -- Riding the long ball, Friendship Christian's softball team took a big step toward a return to the TSSAA Spring Fling with a solid 5-2 victory over Tipton-Rosemark Academy in Wednesday's opening game of the Division II-A sectional.
The Lady Commanders and Tipton-Rosemark were set to play Thursday at 2 p.m. followed by the "if necessary" game at 4 p.m. Admission is $7 per person as set by the TSSAA.

School record holder in decathlon
A Lebanon High senior has already qualified for the 2016 TSSAA Class AAA Spring Fling in Murfreesboro May 23 and 24.
Blue Devil Will Earps will be representing LHS in the decathlon, a two-day, ten-event contest of strength, endurance and speed to be held May 23 and 24 at MTSU's Dean Hayes Track Stadium.
