Time for the front-stuffers

Get the out your orange vests and hats, boys and girls, the best deer hunting of the year is about to open.
Our muzzleloading season opens this Saturday, Nov. 5 and runs through Friday, Nov. 18. This is the prime time to kill a mature buck. And by the way, this fall fishing is good now, too.
If the weather will cooperate, the bucks should be out during daylight hours, searching for that "special" doe.

CU SOCCER - MSC tourney opens

Phoenix women play Campbellsville
Cumberland women's soccer will face Campbellsville University at 5 p.m. on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Championships in Bowling Green, Ky., as announced Monday by the league office.

The Phoenix, 10-3-2 overall and 5-1-1 in Mid-South play, lost the tiebreaker for the No. 2 in the eight-team tournament by virtue of the league's third tiebreaker - common opponents.

Wilson Central sophomore
GREENSBORO, NC -- Wilson Central High's Michael Kramer earned AAU All-America status for his efforts in the Super 32 Challenge National Wrestling Tournament held at the Greensboro Coliseum.

A sophomore heavyweight, Kramer earned a medal with a sixth place finish in the renowned tournament.
