MONDAY HOOPS -- MJ teams sweep Siegel

Local games played Dec. 12
MT. JULIET -- A trio of ninth graders helped lead Mt. Juliet's Lady Bears to a lopsided 66-25 victory over Siegel Monday.
Post Emma Palmer led all scorers with 18 points while Aaliyah Frazier had 12 and Nevaeh Majors scored 10.
Majors also dished out nine assists in addition to pumping in three 3-pointers.

WRESTLING -- MJ wins SlamFest

Dec. 10 at Clarksville High
CLARKSVILLE -- Mt. Juliet's wrestling team went 3-0 through pool play, then dominated Clarksville Northwest 49-24 in the finals of Saturday's (Dec. 10) Clarksville SlamFest hosted by Clarksville High.

The Golden Bears knocked off Rossview 43-27 in the semifinals after the Hawks finished first in their pool.

BOWLING -- LHS sweeps District 12

Girls 19-0; boys 18-1
Lebanon High's Blue Devils knocked off Station Camp 20-5 in the finals of the District 12 bowling tournament held at Pro Bowl West.

The victory marked Lebanon's second consecutive district title and upped the Blue Devil record to 18-1.

High game scores: Jarred Bradshaw (198, 192, 192), Hunter Fugate (195, 195), Tyler Burton (234, 194), Nick Anderson (215) and Tyler Moore (244, 266, 234, 197).

CU FOOTBALL -- Jernigan named All-American

Leading tackler for 4 seasons
Cumberland University senior linebacker Nathan Jernigan was named a Second Team All-American by the American Football Coaches Tuesday, as announced by the AFCA and the NAIA.
The Eagleville High School graduate was voted Mid-South Conference West Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season last month.
"Nathan has been one of our team leaders since he came on campus five years ago," said CU head coach Donnie Suber.
