Full Moon in May - Bedding Bream

Ask the old-timers. They'll tell you the best time to catch bedding bream, aka bluegills is the first full moon in May.

It may be true. Lot of them swear by it and it has been good for me. At any rate, I marked May 10, a week from today, on my calendar.

I'm heading for White Oak to put an assault on them.

AWARDS -- Sloan brings home hardware

1st & 2nd at TOWA Conference
BUCHANAN -- John L. Sloan recently added to his writing awards with a first and second place among members of the Tennessee Outdoor Writers Association at the annual conference and competition held April 27-29 at Paris Landing State Park.

Sloan, who writes a weekly column for The Wilson Post, has over 120 writing awards to his credit.

It appears about 351 single-family homes are approved on first reading in the Nonaville Road area of Mt. Juliet, only after city commissioners axed a proposal for about 126 accompanying "town homes" in the proposed development. So, the proposed 339 single-family homes were replaced with 351 homes - sans the townhomes - in the development dubbed Windtree Pines.

GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central goalkeeper Kellen Lively signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent and scholarship papers Wednesday, May 3 with Trevecca Nazarene University, a Division II institution in Nashville.

Lively, a two-time all District 9-AAA selection, is the son of Scott and Holly Lively.
