SOFTBALL -- FCS falls in DII-A finals

Friday, May 26 at StarPlex --
MURFREESBORO -- The King's Academy utilized a 17-hit attack to score early and often in Friday's 13-4 victory over Friendship Christian in the finals of the Division II-A state tournament at the StarPlex.

TKA made it a clean sweep of the Lady Commanders in 2017, winning both regular season games and knocking off their rivals twice in the state tournament.

STATE CHAMP -- Shea wins pole vault

1st local to bring home Spring Fling gold --
MURFREESBORO -- Mt. Juliet High's Cole Shea recorded a 14-6 effort in the pole vault Thursday, May 25 at Middle Tennessee State's Dean A. Hayes Stadium to win the Class AAA state championship with relative ease.

Shea, a junior, finished six inches ahead of a pair of Brentwood High vaulters -- Jett Kinder and Garrett Lee -- both of whom topped out at 14-0.
