ATF offers reward in Mt. Juliet gun store burglary

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in conjunction with the Mt. Juliet Police Department and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from KRB Firearms II, a federal firearms licensee (FFL).

Developers pitch revamped mixed-use project in MJ

Developers pitched a revised concept plan for a large mixed-use project in north Mt. Juliet that is slated to go before the Mt. Juliet Planning Commission in July.

Mike Murphy of Cumberland Advisors presented the evolved project to local business owners at the Mt. Juliet Chamber's economic meeting last week. The project is called Northtown Village/Mixed Use and is slated for a large parcel of land situated on North Mt. Juliet and Lebanon roads (across the street from Kroger).

Summer Arts Academy celebrates heroes

The Wilson County Civic League Summer Arts Academy is in full swing. The program, now in its 12th year, kicked off last Monday.

For two weeks, the camp focuses on educating youth in grades 3 through 8 about music, art, dance and theatre.

FOOTBALL -- Loveless returns to CU

Former standout quarterback -
Cumberland University football coach Donnie Suber announced the addition of former CU player Broc Loveless this week as a graduate assistant for the 2017 season.

Loveless returns to his alma mater after spending two seasons at Division III Milliken University in Decatur, Ill., working with defensive backs in 2015 and wide receivers in 2016. He served as the team's video coordinator and assistant recruiting coordinator during his time with the Big Blue.
