Its been another hot one here in Lebanon this weekend. My flower garden is enjoying the hot weather with a little rain thrown in for good measure. Well, in reality, the rain we got the other day was a real frog strangler and I got caught out driving in the mess. Not a complaint as we needed rain.
Two years ago Angie Dee walked into the Capitol Theatre in Lebanon and an idea was born.
"I realized this was a beautiful live theatre stage. There was nobody doing that," she said. "I wanted to see high-quality, Broadway-level theatre here in this breathtaking venue."

The Fourth of July holiday wouldn't be the same without fireworks. The holiday will be observed on Tuesday, July 4th and this summer, shoppers in the city of Lebanon can take their pick when it comes to where to buy their loot.
The sign in front of the cute white brick cottage house on Lebanon Road in Mt. Juliet says, "Welcome to Our Porch."
"Sit long. Talk much. Laugh Often," the friendly sign further beckons.

Recent Mt. Juliet High graduate Stephanie Phelps signed papers Friday, June 23 to continue her education and softball career at Gallatin's Volunteer State Community College.
Phelps, the daughter of George and Kristi Phelps, was a first baseman and the only senior on the roster for the Lady Bears.
