LEBANON -- When Cumberland University’s new Dean of Fine Arts Ted Rose was asked to speak at the luncheon introducing him last week at Five Oaks Country Club, he said it was difficult for him to decide what to talk about.
"I could talk for an hour about my faculty," Rose said. "They’re not just professors, they’re artists, performers who students see as role models."
He added that he thinks it is important for professors to have experience in the field they teach.
In his actual speech he told those gathered that he wants to put what he has learned both as a working artist and working in corporate America into practice for the students at CU.
